sorry i haven't posted recently been swamped guiding and running camp.
water temps mid 60's and pretty much stable at that range of 63-68.
weather has been 70's with scattered showers, cloud, sun from day to day.
through july 20 or so patterns and fishing remained consistant with earlier reports.
since there have been some slight changes.
while walleye fishing has remained very good to excellent in the past 10 days or so the numbers of fish 16-24" has increased and the number of big fish 26-30"+ has decreased at least on structure. rigging with minnows and crawlers off humps, points, and deep flats at 28-34' has been the mainstay for most consistant and numbers many days avg 100+ easily however there are now also alot of fish in the cabbage and few fishing them. jigging with minnows and plastics and slip bobbering leeches very effective.
also on the stable warming days the suspended trolling bite has been excellent it's just it's not good on the frontal, colder, windy days, those evenings the fish or at least very few have come up above 30-40'. the pms they come up avg size has been 22-30". trolling with boards and cranks 4'-10' down and divers 15-22' off flatlines, clown has been an excellent color.

throughout musky fishing though not smoking hot has remained very steady with fish boated daily with numbers actually caught not down to much from previous years just not as many fish being seen each day.most years it is not uncommon to move 12-20 fish a day, while some this season the norm is more 5-12 but getting a crack or 2 a day. been avg 4-7 50's boated a week with 2x that many lost for each boated, lots of 42-48" stuff ,lots of nippers and weird soft bites, blowups etc.posted some pics and got a bunch more from last week and this to go up.
double 10"s but #8 and 9's getting more than thier share as well as ripping raiders and gramas. some topwater fish also.
both weeds and rocks but probably 70% weeds north section and 70% rocks central sections but check both regardless of where on the lake daily as it changes like the wind it seems.
been marking alot of fish 18-22' off structure so don't be afraid to work further out if fish aren't coming off shallow much.
while before it was the sun activatng the fish now recently the darker cloudy days and pms been best. if yu have a stormy day and it clears early pm GET OUT!!!
had some big pike caught to 42" both casting muskys and walleye fishing but numbers of pike shallow down even small ones, most out on deep structure with the walleyes and suspended.
trout 60-80',were really good last week but some big fish caught to 24# several part day trips with danny but several groups tried it this week with less success mostly smaller fish.
bass scattered some on shoreline rock rubble and timber with most dropping deeper.the ones being caught are big avg size.

with the water temps the way they are and holding pretty much steady now for 2 weeks, nights getting longer,we should be in for a great fall fishing season. sept and oct should be excellent with little turnover factor at all.
if we don't get any prolonged heat wave above 80-90 in sept we could have one of the best fall fishing seasons in years.

still got some openings aug 29 on through 1st week of oct.
give us a call for more info.
