Another great week of fishing.
I have been fishing mostly walleyes for the past few days. I have been catching the eyes in 14 to 24 feet of water with 1/8 oz. jigs and either leaches of crawlers. The fish range for 8 to 22 inches with good numbers, between 50 to 100 fish every day.
I have been doing some trophy walleye hunting, throwing shad raps and reef runners on the shallow reefs and points. Even with water temps still holding around the 68 degree mark the fish are very aggressive of the cranks. I have been seeing a good number of fish in the 20 to 30 inch range. Along with the walleyes we have been getting some nice northerns action on the reefs, most in the 30 to 38 inch range.
Today, one of the guests was throwing cranks on the points and caught a 28 and a half inch walleye and a 44 inch musky.
Congrats to Kevin Middelsteadt and his group on a great week of musky hunting. Everybody be sure to read Kevins post.
