Did a couple of dives on Monona this week. One was in deeper (55 FOW) water out from the Yahara river inlet, the other (today) was out past the Tonywatha shoreline in 35 FOW. The interesting thing here is there's no real thermocline established yet. In the dive today at 36' the minimum temp was 64°F. Usually the thermoclines around 30'. On the deeper water dive the temp in 55 FOW was 57°F, which is typical of the temp below the thermocline, but there wasn't the sharp drop in temp the deeper I went. I attached the two dive histories which shows the depths and the temperatures at each depth (updates once every 4 seconds).

Marked a lot of big schools of fish, all in deeper water (25' - 40'). Some schools were suspended and were smaller in quantity of fish, while the fish off the bottom were thicker and longer. During the dive I saw a few 3" perch sitting right on the bottom, and some 5" to 6" mixed in.
