The weather held out for another week and the fishing was great again for the most part. Muskies were a bit sluggish at times with the hot sun/high sky and late weed growth combination, but some nice fish were caught in the weeds over the opening weekend and week; including a 54" monster (see another thread for more details.) Small crank baits seemed to catch the majority of the fish during the first week.

Walleyes started showing up strongly on the reefs, but on a couple of days with the wind up, walleyes were caught on the sand in 8-10 feet of water as well. Jigs and minnows were again the predominant presentation.

Smallmouth were hitting shad raps, crayfish style baits and other small cranks along boulder shorelines with shelves off of them. Still some nice walleyes getting caught this way too so give it a try sometime.

Northerns were a little quiet for our guests in the main basin, but there was good action in Obakikon lake, especially on the edges of the weeds.

Looking ahead to the coming week, it looks like wind and cooler temps will be the main factors. Saturday and Sunday (6/27, 6/28) gave us two days of the strongest sustained winds we've had in a long time. Both days were near write-offs for fishing, but a few groups got out and found a few fish. Once this cold front clears out, things should pick right back up again with a few days of stable weather.
